Energy-Saving Manufacturing System Design with Two Geometric Machines

In recent years, due to increasing energy costs and deteriorating environmental conditions, manufacturing enterprises have become more concerned with efficiency. This paper is dedicated minimizing consumption while maintaining the target productivity of a two-machine geometric serial line. To address this problem, we propose nonlinear model under constraints, where system consists three components, namely, setup, idle, normal working consumption. By analyzing properties function, new heuristic method, i.e., minimization (ECM) algorithm, proposed obtain optimal solution. addition, extend formulation further investigate saving problem varied buffer capacities an energy-saving (ES) algorithm solve it based on structure. Furthermore, effectiveness algorithms verified by designing numerical examples, effects parameters, capacity, productivity, breakdown probabilities total solution are presented.
